Established SHIMIZU KINJI Store as haberdasher and textiles wholesaler

個人商店として発足Kinji Shimizu, the founder, was born and raised in the small town of Iida in the hills of Nagano Prefecture. During his childhood his family always used clear spring water from a well for everyday household purposes.Later, he named his company Pearlizumi to reflect his wish to continue to create brilliant products like ‘pearls from a spring’. This became the brand belief. Now, 清水弘裕(Hiroyasu Shimizu), the current chairman, who was a successful cycling athlete tries on the company’s own products and reflects his idea to improve their comfort.

Provides cycling wears to the US national cycling team in Los Angeles Olympic games, won 9 medals.

1985

Development of sublimation and transfer printing technology.

Joop Zoetemelk, the Netherlands, wins cycling road race world championship.

Releases products using ‘Field sensor®’, which is an innovative material with sweat absorbency and quick drying.

Provides cycling wear to the Netherlands and the Australian national cycling team in Seoul Olympic games.
The Netherlands won the gold medal.

Established DASH AMERICA, Inc., American sales company by license agreement.
